Code of Conduct

Last updated: 28 April 2026

Our Commitment

The AI Psychology Summit is committed to providing a professional, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for all attendees, speakers, and organisers.

We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

Beyond those legal protections, our standard for the Event also extends to: nationality, neurotype, personal appearance, political affiliation, profession or professional role, and socioeconomic status. This broader list reflects our values and expectations for the Event community; it is not a restatement of statutory protections.

This Code of Conduct applies to all Event spaces, including the live webinar, chat, Q&A sessions, the attendee portal, and any associated communications (e.g. email correspondence).

Expected Behaviour

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat all attendees, speakers, and organisers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
  • Engage constructively in discussions, including when disagreeing with others
  • Respect the diversity of perspectives, experiences, and professional backgrounds represented at the Event
  • Refrain from making assumptions about others' clinical competence, knowledge, or views based on their professional role or background
  • Use the chat and Q&A features for genuine questions, contributions, and discussion
  • Respect the intellectual property of speakers and other attendees
  • Follow the Recording Policy and refrain from unauthorised screen recording or distribution of Event content

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following behaviour is not tolerated:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or bullying of any kind, whether verbal, written, or visual
  • Discriminatory or derogatory comments, including those related to any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010
  • Sustained disruption of sessions, presentations, or discussions
  • Sharing of inappropriate, offensive, or sexually explicit content in the chat or any Event space
  • Unsolicited promotion, advertising, or solicitation
  • Sharing other attendees' personal information without their consent
  • Any conduct that would be considered unprofessional under the ethical codes of the BPS, HCPC, BACP, UKCP, or equivalent professional bodies
  • Threatening or abusive language directed at any participant

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the organisers:

We will handle reports confidentially and will only share information about a reporter where strictly necessary to investigate or respond to the concern, or where required by law. If we propose to take serious action against a reportee, principles of natural justice may require us to share enough information about the concern (including, where unavoidable, that a report has been made) to allow them to respond. Where this is necessary, we will tell the reporter in advance.

When reporting, please include (where possible):

  • A description of the behaviour
  • When and where it occurred (e.g. which session, in the chat)
  • Any screenshots or records you have

Consequences

The organisers reserve the right to take any action they deem appropriate in response to a breach of this Code of Conduct, including:

  • A private warning
  • Removal from the live webinar without warning
  • Removal of chat messages
  • Revocation of access to the attendee portal and recordings
  • No refund of the ticket price

In serious cases, we may report the matter to the individual's professional body or regulatory authority.

Appeal

Decisions taken under this Code of Conduct may be appealed in writing to info@aipsychology.co.uk within 14 days of the decision being communicated. Appeals will be reviewed by a person not directly involved in the original decision.

Professional Standards

Many attendees at the AI Psychology Summit are registered with professional bodies (e.g. HCPC, BPS, BACP, UKCP) and are bound by their respective codes of ethics and conduct. This Code of Conduct is intended to complement, not replace, those professional obligations.
